Hi, I'm Michael Buntarman, a backend engineer with three years of experience in the industry. I have a passion for building scalable and reliable systems, and have experience working with a variety of technologies. I'm currently working at Dealls, where I'm responsible for building and maintaining the backend systems that power our products. I work with remote-first mindset, and have experience working with cross-functional teams. So far, being remote-first has been a great experience for me, it allows me to work from anywhere, and I can focus on my work without any distractions.

Golang is my primary programming language, and I have experience working with PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, Twirp, and Docker. Asides from my technical skills, I'm also experienced in working with cross-functional teams, and have a strong understanding of agile methodologies. My three years of experience in the industry have allowed me to develop a strong understanding of backend development, and I'm always looking for opportunities to expand my knowledge and skills.

Bachelor of Computer Science, 2017 - 2021

I graduated from Petra Christian University with a Bachelor's degree. My major coursework focused on the development. I achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.63 and graduated cum laude, a distinction reserved for top-performing students. I particularly enjoyed studying programming-related subjects, and have continued to develop these skills in my current role as a backend engineer.

I have experience with a variety of programming languages and technologies, including Golang, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, Docker, Twirp and Astro. I have a strong understanding of backend development, and have worked on a variety of projects that have allowed me to develop my skills in these areas. For example, Twitch's Twirp is a particularly interesting technology that I've worked with, it's a framework for creating RPC services which is similar to gRPC, but with a focus on simplicity and performance. Astro is another technology that I've been learning about recently, and I'm excited to be using it to build this website.
